August Favourites!

How is it the first of September already? This year is flying by! It’s that time again for a favourites post. August has been good to me since I found out my GCSE results and found out that I didn’t do as bad as I thought I did and I got into the college that I wanted at the level that I wanted, so it’s been good! Here are the items that I have loved throughout August:

Batiste; dry shampoo in blush:

You either love dry shampoo or you hate; I for one love it. This is the third dry shampoo from Batiste that I’ve had and it’s definitely my favourite. The previous type that I had did make my hair look cleaner, but it made it feel disgusting, so I knew that I needed to try a new type, so I picked up this one and it’s great! It makes my hair look a lot cleaner and it doesn’t leave it feel disgusting. Plus it was only £2.99; bargain!

The Body shop body butter; cocoa butter:

This is the first body butter that I’ve had from the body shop. I bought this because the body shop was having an offer on for a certain amount off; I can’t remember how much exactly, so I stood in the shop smelling them all to see which one I liked the best and decided on this one. It’s not watery and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized! I will be doing a post about this soon, as well.

Maybelline baby lips in Cherry Me and Hydrate:
.
I have done nothing, but rave about these lip balms, but these are the two that I have been wearing the most. I wear hydrate before bed and then re-apply it whilst I’m doing my makeup and then I will apply Cherry Me before I leave the house. Cherry me leaves a nice colour on the lips where as Hydrate is clear.

Maybelline colour tattoo in Pink Gold:

Colour tattoos are simply amazing! I have three different colours, but this one must be my favourite as it’s the one that I’ve been reaching for more than the other two. Pink Gold is a shimmery rose gold colour. These will also stay put all day and it still amazes me that I can go out in the morning and when I come home it will not have changed and will still be there. You can also wear these as a base or just alone; I personally like wear this shade alone because it’s such a pretty colour!

Candy Crush:

I’ve had this app for a while and I got frustrated when I couldn’t get past level... 33, I think it was, but once I started playing it again and I got passed it; it was one of the happiest days off my life. After that day I continued to play and continued to get upset when my life’s had ran out, but I’m now stuck on another level; 65 to be precise. I hate the chocolate; it makes me nervous and I just think the level is difficult and if you’re on level a hundred and something; I want to know how you managed it.

 Music favourites:
Music is probably my life; I’m in love with music. I love going through spotify to find artists that I haven’t heard off and seeing if I like their songs. I like a lot of different genres, but you’ll find out my favourite when I list the songs that
I’ve been loving.

1.    We Own The Night by The Wanted
2.    Roar by Katy Perry
3.    Miss Movin on by Fifth Harmony
4.    Can We Dance by The Vamps

So those are my August favourites!

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

left to right: Intense care, mint fresh, peach kiss, pink punch, cherry me and hydrate

Nobody understands how happy this makes me. I have wanted these since I was seeing reviews about them from Americans, as these have been out for about a year over in the states. When I saw on the boots website that they were going to start stocking these I didn't know what to do with myself; I was over the moon.

A couple of days after they had been released I went to boots only to find out that the store hadn't had any yet and I was gutted, so when I got home I got straight on the website and saw that there was an offer on for 3 for 2, so I thought that I'd be stupid to not get all six.

Now to the important bit.

The six different types are: Intense care, mint fresh, peach kiss, pink punch, cherry me and hydrate. Three out of the six have no colour and three do have a tint of colour; pink punch and cherry me are well pigmented and they provide a good colour considering that they are only a lip balm.

I haven't had these for very long, but when I did get them my lips were in a pretty bad way, as they were very dry and chapped and after about a day of wearing one of these my lips healed and felt soft and smooth.

Scent wise these all smell amazing.
Mint fresh: (green packaging purple writing) smells extremely minty and the rest smell fruity
Cherry me: (Orange packaging, hot pink writing) smells like cherries.
Pink punch: (pink packaging, yellow writing) smells like pineapples
I can't quite put my finger on the other three, but they all smell amazing!

These are good lip balm to invest in, as they are cheap with a retailing price at boots for £2.99 which I think is amazing! The packaging is also sturdy, as there is no chance that the lid will come off if you want to keep this loose in your bag there is no chance that the lid will fall off as it clicks into place.

Yay:

Cheap - £2.99
Nice smelling
Nice variation of colours
Sturdy packaging
Softens and smooths lips in a couple of hours

Nay:

The fact that it took so long for them to come out in the UK

Overall:

Brand: Maybelline

Product: Baby Lips

Type: All

Price: £2.99

Where to buy: Boots or Superdrug

Packaging quality: 5/5

Overall rating: 5/5

Recommend?: 100% This lip balm is my new favourite, it does such a good job at repairing lips, it's seriously amazing! As soon as you apply it, it feels moisturizing and it leaves lips feeling soft and smooth

Grade: A+

Maybelline NY Dream Fresh BB Cream Review

Hello lovelies!

Today I will be sharing my opinion on the Maybelline NY Dream Fresh BB Cream (wow, that's a mouthful.) I got this quite a while ago and tried it once and wasn't really a fan, so I just put it away and never looked at it again. Until I was sorting through my makeup bag and decided to test it again and this is how I feel about it.

The product claims to have eight benefits in one, and those benefits are:
                                                       Creates a natural glow
Compliments skin-tone
SPF 30 UV protection
Hydrates all day
Blurs imperfections
Oil free, non-greasy
Looks visibly smooth
Feels fresh
The reason why I didn't like this product at first is because the coverage isn't great and I have natural red cheeks that I like to cover up and this isn't great for that. This product however is good if you want to achieve a natural look as it does create a 'natural glow', so I think that this product will look fabulous in summer when you don't want to go out with a full face of foundation, as this BB cream feels light and fresh and creates a dewy effect.

I don't think I will wear this a lot as it's staying power isn't good and only lasted half a day which is not helpful, I've tried to love this product, but I just can't. I know a few people are in love with this and swear by it, but I just can't. Mainly because of the coverage I like a happy medium coverage and this to light with a ridiculous staying time.

On a note that has nothing to do with the quality of the product, I'm in love with the packaging I think it's really cute and girly where as other packaging can be quite plain I'm in love with this and how the top bit changes by what tone of colour you have bought (I've got light.)

I will not be repurchasing this product as it also broke me out and not to sound vain, but I hardly get spots, I know people who do and suffer with them, but I've always been lucky and not got them, so after about three days of wearing the product I got a couple of spots to which I'm not happy about.

I will not be re-purchasing this product, as I am really not happy with the fact that it broke me out.

(When I was taking the pictures I may have got a bit to much out and I know that I haven't rubbed it in completely)

March Favourites!

So it's finally April *cheers*. The clocks have gone forward so it's going to start getting light early and staying light for longer which will make it feel a lot more summery outside, let's just hope the temperature goes up a bit, haha! All of these products are relatively new, but I've worn them to death whilst I've had them.

Lasting finish by Kate Moss in 08

This is my first lipstick from the Kate Moss collection for Rimmel and I love it! It's one of them 'your lip colour, but better'. It applies nicely and is very pigmented. It lasted me three-four hours without eating and drinking, but after eating or drinking another layer would be required although after eating or drinking the colour can still be seen. The only bad point is that it is a little drying, so I use a nivea lip balm as a base before applying the lipstick. If you fancy having a look you can check out all of the other shades here

Sinful Colors - Pinky glitter

This nail varnish is so pretty! When I applied this I didn't use a basecoat or topcoat and I totally regret it; when wearing this a basecoat is 100% necessary. I put three coats of this on and that was when I got an opaque colour, so if you have no patience and don't like having to wait for you nails to dry before adding another coat then this isn't for you. Whilst on the colour is a light pink with obvious amounts of glitter. I never thought that I would spend £1.99 on a nail varnish, but this was to pretty to leave behind. Simple - hydrating light moisturizer

I apply this before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning and I just find that it's such a beautiful product. I bought this from primark for £1 and I love it! It has no fragrance and the littles amount does plenty. The only downside is that it is hard to get out of the bottle as the bottle is hard to squeeze and when it does come out you don't want too much because like I said before a small amount does plenty.

Meybelline the rocket volume express mascara

I got this mascara off my mum and it's the best! Before this mascara I used one from avon which is now my second favourite. I used to wear about eight different mascaras and I'm not being dramatic and then with just using a couple of coats of this one makes my eyelashes look perfect it does not clump them them together and it also makes them look longer which is great. Check it out here

Rimmel London 1000 kisses

I have used this whenever I go out and it's such a nice colour. It's not quite red it's more of a pinky red colour although it does look red by the container and the swatch. I've found that the colour lasts until you want to eat or drink and then another coat will be needed. This product however is not great for chapped lips as it will highlight them and really make the chappednes stand out. I'm also struggling at the moment as it is deciding that it doesn't want to work very well, but I think it gives you instructions on the packaging on how to make it easier to use. Primark and Boots haul!

Yesterday I had a little trip to town with my mum. We had been planning to go for a while, but never got round to it. Plus it's my friends birthday on Saturday, so if we didn't go shopping I wouldn't of been able to buy her anything and that would not go down well. Whilst shopping I saw quite a few things that I liked and therefore spent quite a lot of money...

I'll start with the items I purchased from Primark (Just to warn you; this haul is going to have no structure, what so ever)

This blouse is my favourite! My favourite compared to what, I'm not so sure, but I love it! It's sheer, so a vest top is needed under it and it has black poka dots all over it. I actually wore this yesterday to a meal with my mum. I wore it with a black skater skirt and a leather jacket, and not to sound too vain, but it looked quite nice, I'm planning on wearing it to my friends party for her birthday. The blouse cost £12 and I don't think price was too bad considering it would of been about £10 dearer in somewhere like Topshop or River Island.

Primark actually have a lot of maxi skirts in at the moment and this one was definitely my favourite! It comes with a little brown belt. I've noticed that quite a few Primark products come with belts, not that I'm complaining you never know when you're going to need a belt, haha! I can't decide what the material is and I don't know what to compare the feel of he skirt to, as it's quite different. The skirt cost £10 which again, I don't think is that bad, as it could of been a lot dearer.

These shoes aren't great, but I will probably only wear them once. The only reason that I bought these is because my school is having a fancy dress day on Wednesday (27th March) and I'm going as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, my school have banned any type of heels, so flats it is. I was looking for sparkly shoes, but I couldn't find any, so these had to do. These only cost £4 so that was another reason why I got these, they're quite cheap.

These are what I got my friend for her birthday. I like them and would buy them for myself, but it's not my birthday tomorrow is it? The purse cost £5 which is quite cheap considering a purse that my mum liked in River Island cost £17. The bracelets cost £2 which I think is a really good price considering you get four that's like 50p per bracelet.

Simple is one of my favourite brands for skincare. I have sensitive skin, so simple is a safe brand for me as they are kind to sensitive skin and are brilliant products. I was really surprised when I found these in Primark and when I saw that they are a pound I had to buy them. The product on the left is a 'Hydrating light moisturizer' I put this on before I went to bed and when I woke up my skin was feeling very smooth, so a thumbs up for that. The product on the left is 'Refreshing facial wash' I haven't tried this yet, but I'm sure that it will be great.

I have started wearing foundation and I've been pretty desperate for a brush that doesn't cost over £10, as all of the brushes that I've seen have cost a fortune. This brush is both a foundation and concealer brush, it cost £1.50 and it feels really soft, I first thought that it would feel quite hard, but it feels alright, I can't wait to use this.

I never thought of buying nail varnish from Primark, but I do have a love for nail varnish. The shade on the far left is 'Peppermint' the got the name spot on, as the best way to describe the colour is... peppermint. The middle colour is Mulberry' which is a dark purple I admit that it's a winter shade, but I couldn't resist. The colour on the far right is 'Au naturel' which is a peachy/brown colour.

(I did buy some other things from Primark, but that was only some socks, tights and a white tank top. I didn't think that these were worth showing)

Now onto boots. Boots have an offer on, so all the beauty stuff is 3 for 2, so I went a little bit crazy. This is the one time that I didn't have may card as well, so I missed out on a good 100 points.

You have no idea on how long I have wanted this. I haven't used a BB cream and I've heard a few good things about this, I got the shade light and it was the last one left in this shade. I don't really like buying the last one, as you never know if it's been opened or not, but I decided to get it anyway. It costs £7.99 and you can check it out here

Ever since these nail varnishes came out I wanted to try one. It's the textured effect nail varnish by Barry M in the colour 'Kingsland Road' I didn't know what colour to get and this light shade of pink looked too cute, so I chose it. I haven't used it yet, but I've seen pictures of what it's supposed to look like and I can't wait to use it. It costs £3.99 and you can check it out here

I didn't expect to be going home with this, but I liked it too much to leave behind. It's the lasting finish 1000 kisses in 510 kiss me. I did wear this for the meal with my mum yesterday, the colour is a deep pink/red. I can not however give a review, as my lips were extremely chapped, so the product wasn't great. About two or three coats are needed to get an opaque coverage. It costs £6.99 and you can check it out here

This is another product that I wasn't expecting to buy. I'm running out of shampoo and have ran out of conditioner, so I was due another purchase, but I didn't expect to buy these. The product in the middle is hairspray and I do need hairspray as the one I have has ran out. I can't wait to use all of these products, as I love using new products on my hair. The shampoo and the conditioner were £5 each, but on the website the price is higher you can check out the conditioner here and the shampoo here. You can find the hairspray here. All three of these products are for blonde hair, if you can't tell by the packaging.

This little beauty was on a stand near the till with a ton of other colours from the same brand. The colour is Pinky glitter (I'm not sure if it's pink or pinky because the website says pink and the bottle says pinky) and it's from Sinful colors, so I'm guessing it's an American brand. It only cost £1.99 so it was a steal! You can check it out here
